And so it goes,
those old stories told
that bind us
to the ground
I cant take my eyes
off of the skyline
when I hear the stories
The strong
The glory
How was any of them
supposed to know
I asked
But no one knew
And so there it goes,
the empty souls
The black
The bloody
the all too looming
questions unanswered
quiet and the breeze
flows when leaving
How was I supposed to know
blame the sky
blame the moon light
when it lingers
And so it is,
the things we follow
and the wisdom we know
we just graze
in the listless summer
day dreams
tumbling people
looking for nothing
not too quickly
and me
I cant take my eyes
off of them
the sheep
the sheet of the living
in tightly woven
stories
I cant take my eyes
away
I cant take my eyes
away
And so will it be,
the dirt
the fire
the glows so pulling
like floods
like tide lines
tattooed on the sand
they wander there too
nothing asked
nothing wondered
the way I wonder
oh, how I wonder
so tall so loving
how I expect them to be
but I feel the breeze
directing and leaving
breathing for me
to be
what Im supposed to be
I asked
no one knew
